Content Description
The Davis Allen Photographs were made by alumnus Davis Allen during his
student years at Oregon Agricultural College. The images primarily depict
campus views and annual rituals such as the homecoming bonfire, "burning of the
green," the bag rush, the rook-sophomore tug-of-war over the millrace, and the
queue for fall class registration. Notable campus scene include the Lady of the
Fountain, the new Library building (now Kidder Hall), the bandstand in the
Library quadrangle, and standing water on lower campus. A few of the images
depict off-campus scenes such as the Marys River Dam and a view of the college
and surrounding farms from atop a nearby hill.
