Historical NoteThe Local Histories are research projects created by students in a Pacific Lutheran University upper division undergraduate history course on the West and Northwest. Many of the projects examine the history of a particular Northwest city or town, while some consider specific issues in a town’s or the region’s history: Japanese internment during World War II or the history of municipality’s fire department for example. The local histories are available for research Restrictions on Use :Property rights reside with Archives and Special Collections and copyright resides with the creators of the documents or their heirs. All requests for permission to publish or quote from manuscripts or records must be submitted to the University Archivist.
