Overview of the Collection
Historical NoteCross of Christ Lutheran Church first organized as a congregation on 19 November 1967 in Vancouver, Washington, under the pastoral direction of the Reverend Curtis B. Haney. Pastor Haney served as an intern at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Boise, Idaho, and then as an assistant to the pastor at Luther Memorial Church in Seattle, Washington, before being called pastor for Cross of Christ. The congregation itself was a member of the Pacific Northwest Synod of the Lutheran Church of America until 31 August 1970, when it officially dissolved. All remaining assets after the dissolution were trusted to the Pacific Northwest Synod of the Lutheran Church of America.
