Overview of the Collection
Historical NoteThe Oregon Upsilon chapter of Alpha Epsilon was organized at Oregon State University in 1975 and officially recognized by the national organization in 1976. The Alpha Epsilon honor society was established in 1963 with six initial chapters. Alpha Epsilon honors outstanding biological and agricultural engineers. Martin Hellickson, Associate Professor of Bioengineering, served as faculty advisor for the chapter. Hellickson joined the faculty of Oregon State University in 1975 and retired in 2006. Content DescriptionThe Alpha Epsilon Oregon Upsilon Chapter Records consist of consititutions, correspondence, membership rosters, treasurer's reports, and a certificate documenting the establishment and membership of the chapter at Oregon State University. Records were transferred in 2008 from the Bioengineering Department, where they were part of the files of Martin Hellickson, faculty advisor for the organization. Related Materials :The Archives' collections include the records of the Oregon State University chapter (the Oregon Student Branch) of the American Society of Agricultural Engineers as well as the Bioresource Engineering Department Records (RG 001). The papers of several agricultural engineering faculty are also available in the Archives, including Dean E. Booster, Hugh J. Hansen, J. Ronald Miner, and James A. Moore. Subjects
