Overview of the Collection
Content DescriptionThe Rice Family Photograph Album includes images of children, family groups, pets, and homes in Oregon and Indiana. Most of the individuals are not identified, but there are several photographs of Ann, Walt, and Allen as children. The album includes images of Ft. Wayne and Lafayette, Indiana; Purdue University; Lincoln, Nebraska; and Kansas City. Identified images include the Rice's home in Indiana; children at the Clay School; family reunions; a women's reading circle in Kings Valley; "leaving for Oregon"; "starting west"; a victory garden; a Labor Day picnic on Marys Peak; and snow on the Oregon State College campus. The creator of the album is not known. Some photographs have been removed from the album and are not part of the collection. The album includes several color prints; most of the prints are b/w snapshots. Use of the Collection
