Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Sarah Ginera Whitman Lutz was born in June, 1897 in Traverse City, Michigan to David and Anna Lutz. She was the great-grandniece of Marcus and Narcissa Whitman. She married Roy E. Lutz, with whom she had a daughter, Marleen Lutz. She died in February, 1981, and was buried in Bellingham, Washington. Before her death she began work on a manuscript about the Whitmans, "Time and Distance."
