government and politics. Membership is open to men and women 18 years of age
and older. The League actively functions at the local, state and national
levels.
Content Description
The collection consists of the records of the Spokane Chapter from
1953-2007, in addition to materials produced by the Washington State league and
the national league. The original accession (boxes 1-14) appears to have been
compiled and stored by two individuals, Julia Fields and Margaret Portman. The
original provenance of this part of the collection has been lost.

Administrative Information
Arrangement :
The collection is arranged into five series: two on the Spokane
Chapter, one on the Washington State League of Women Voters, one on the
National League of Women Voters, and one of accruals recieved after 1995. The
accruals series uses its own box and folder numbering which is not tied to the
1995 accession.
Custodial History :
The 1995 accession appears to have been compiled and stored by two
individuals, Julia Fields and Margaret Portman. The original provenance has
been lost. The 2005 accession was recieved from Pam Behring and provenance has
been preserved.
Acquisition Information :
Donated by Pamela C. Behring, 1995 (L95-55) and 2005 (L2004-23).
Future Additions :
Two to three linear feet are expected to accrue every five years.
